Microsoft ODF compliance
As a member of the Danish Open Source Association I follow the battle between ODF and OpenXML quite closely. A friend of mine emailed me a link to the following documents that show the status of Microsoft's ODF compliance. It is not so much the fact, that many things are unsupported in MS Office - it's more of a problem, that things are lost if you open a ODF document in MS Office and save it right again. One could become suspicious about Microsoft's real intentions.
But have a look for yourself:
The ODF Alliance press release and analysis of MS support for ODF in SP2 was sent to the wire and is now live on the
Casalogic blog - and why in english
We at Casalogic have decided to create our own semi-controlled web page besides www.casalogic.dk/com. The purpose of this site is to publish information about some Open Source projects that we are working on, and to blog about recent discoveries and experiences while working with Linux and Open Source.
We hope that you like the page and that you will give us comments.
Oh yeah: and the reason for this page being in English is to allow for a wider range of people to benefit from the tips and tricks, software and other stuff, that we intend to publish here. Hopefully, our Danish readers will excuse us.
Best regards,
Torben (root)
